This company, ABEL Co., Ltd. has evolved its occupation as stainless-steel surface treatment from the year of 1965.
We, at ABEL, have developed our coloring technology of stainless-steel on the strength of our own technologies and applications accumulated during the past 50years from the business commencement.
We have put the brand-name “Abel Black” on our world only coloring technology and have engaged to the manufacturing of various industries, including construction, optical equipment, automobile and, etc.
We have not stayed still in the position of surface treatment enterprise, but have continuously been growing as the partner entity of designers and/or architects in the scope of material selection, shape processing, surface finishing inspection consistently.

History

1965	The Company establishment. Commencement of electrolytic polishing and surface treatment business.
1971	Self- development of kin-color of stainless coloring. Mainly coloring of construction materials.
1978	Development of fully automatic electrolytic polishing facility.
1980	New installation of kin-color automatic facility.
1985	Commencement of joint development of stainless electrolytic coloring “Lumi-color” with Kawasaki Steel Corporation.
1986	The factory newly built. Japan first establishment of Lumi-color electrolytic coloring facility.
1989	Full success of stainless mesh coloring, 6 colors.
1990	Development of satin finish leaving no fingerprint after blast processing.
1992	Development of light-black and light-bronze color of electrolytic Lumi-color. Development of super-black which enable coloring at welded portion.
1993	Company name changed from Kinki Chemical Industry to Abel Co., Ltd. Development of color blast “Abel-color”, which have been applied to the coaches of JR Shinkansen bullet train.
1996	Newly established the facility of semi-conductor related precise electrolytic polishing.
1999	Newly established tank and piping and inner-face precise electrolytic polishing.
2002	Newly installed clean-room: class 1000.
2006	Received confirmation certificate from the” Law of sophistication of basic technology of manufacturing of small and medium enterprises (SAPOIN)”.
2007	Received approval from Osaka Prefectural Office of our “Management Renovation Plan” Newly built the precise parts inspection room.
2008	Was selected as one of the 100 KANSAI manufacturing healthy enterprises. The Company appeared on the article ”Relay among small and medium enterprises through technology” of June issue of the Nikkei Manufacturing Magazine. Developed “Piano Black” of mirror surface finish stainless black. Has applied for the Trade-name registration.
2009	New installation of “long module line” of large size electrolytic polishing facility. The Company product has been adapted to the “ADMIRE Plan” of Energy Science Laboratory of Kyoto University. Established Kanto sales branch office. Obtained ISO9001:2008 The Company was adopted to manufacturing subsidy Supporting Business of Experiment and Development”. The Company was awarded “Yao city small and medium size enterprise local economy promotion deserving people”. The Company product has been employed to “ Strategy Utilization Program” of Spring 8.
2010	The Company was broadcasted in the “Super News Anchor” of Kansai TV. Obtained ISO14001: 2004 Received confirmation certificate of Specific R&D Plan (SAPOIN) based upon small and medium size enterprise sophistication law.
2011	Abel-black has been employed to Tokyo Sky Tree.
2012	Abel-black treated ”Black-Stainless” was reported in the article of August issue of Nikkei Design Magazine. Electricity generation started. Solar Panel Generator was built at the roof top of the Company Head Office.
2013	Was adopted to the small and minimum manufacturing enterprise experiment and development subsidiary program. Was adopted to “The international business operation (F/S) program” of the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN. Commencement of the mass production of black coil of Abel-black. The article of the commencement of the mass production of black coil appeared on the Nikkan Kogyo Newspaper. Awarded the Grand Prix of the Manufactures, or “The Prize of the Minister of Economic, Trade and Industry” Awarded as “Yao-city small and medium enterprise local economy promotion deserving people”.
2014	Trade-name “Black Belt SUS”, Abel black coil, was applied. Awarded Invention Award of Kinki Area, or “The Encouragement Prize of the Director of Small and Medium Enterprise Bureau”.
2015	Televised in the “J-Innovators” corner of the “ Science View” of NHK WORLD tv program. Awarded “Yao city small and medium enterprise local economy promotion deserving people”.
2016	“Black Belt SUS”manufacturing line expanded. Application of Trade-Name “Abel-black” ,our unique surface treatment technology, was made.
2017	Obtained ISO9001:2015 Mr. Hideki IAI, the president of the Company was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, this year.
2018	Participated 2018 Exhibition of “Maison & Objet” held at Paris, France
2019	Mr. Kosuke IAI, took the Presidency of the Company, and Mr. Hideki IAI, was inaugurated the Chairman of the Company.
2020	Selected as a “Regional Future Leading Company” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
2022	Adopted for Lexus IS “Mode Black S/Mode Glitter”.
2023	Awarded the Excellence Award by the Stainless Steel Association. Selected as a “300 Vibrant Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry..
